Attention: got this note from Paul Bergquist - important information about Reservations

I just received a call from Lloyd Hubbard regarding this notice of the Valentine Brunch at Lord Fletchers. Your note had mentioned that people should call Lloyd to reserve their spot at Lord Fletchers. There original flyer said that people should RSVP their checks for reservations to Lloyd & Shirley by February 7, 2011. The issue we have with your last bulletin is that Lloyd and Shirley are on a cruise and nobody is available for phone calls. PLEASE SEND OUT A REVISED NOTICE that people should have their checks sent to Lloyd & Shirley by the 7th. He will recap count when he returns from trip. please let me know if you have any questions.

The club's been busy recently... there are several items of interest that the board and various club members have been working on for your enjoyment:

The Northern Star Newsletter's Winter 2011 issue will be mailed to you at the end of this week, look for it in your mailbox over the weekend.
The club website, www.mbca-tc.org, has received a facelift and a lot of new content. You can go there right now and see an electronic version of the Northern Star Newsletter if you can't wait for the hard copy. Please let us know your thoughts about the site... do you have event photos that could be added? Any suggestions about what you might like to see there? Please let the board know your thoughts.

Drive4Second Harvest
4R Motorsports is hosting a food drive benefiting Second Harvest Heartland. 4R Motorsports will be showcasing their new Porsche race team based out of MN, and launching 'The Peoples Car' -where an individual can become a sponsor of the racecar for as little as $100, and their name will be integrated into the overall design of the car.

Event will take place during the Formula 1 race live from Brazil and offer you a first chance showing of the racecar, an intimate conversation with our driver, Scott Kuhne, and information about the series and the campaign. Catering will be provided by Jimmy Johns as you browse through the computers and take a look at our website and 'live build'. While attending you can sign up to be an official sponsor of 4R Motorsports for World Challenge 2011 while registering to win an estimated $7,000 worth of giveaways from local establishments.

Second Harvest Heartland is the Upper Midwest's largest hunger-relief organization, striving to end hunger through community partnerships. We form the backbone of organizations working together to efficiently alleviate hunger in 59 counties throughout Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. Second Harvest Heartland operates the fourth largest Feeding America member food bank in the United States, helping feed 77% of the hungry in our service area.

Admission to the event is at least one non-perishable food item. All ages.

Performs Excerpts from Wagner’s Ring Cycle

Renowned tenor Dennis Petersen will present music from Wagner’s Ring Cycle. Included will be from Das Rheingold, Loge’s Immer ist Undank, Siegmund’s Winterstürme from Die Walküre, and from Siegfried, Mime’s Zwang volle Plage and Siegfried’s Nothung and Schmieding Lied.

Following the performance will be a conversation with Mr. Petersen about the vocal and dramatic requirements of each character followed by a question-and-answer period. The audience is invited to attend a reception immediately following the program.

Noted for his innate sense of style and superior acting abilities, Petersen’s recent portrayal of Mime in the Seattle Opera’s Ring Cycle was described as “…one of the handful of superb character tenors, … masterful.” He has been seen frequently at the Metropolitan Opera including their new production of Boris Godunov. He also received rave reviews as King Herod in Minnesota Opera’s production of Salome last April.
